Minori Restaurant and Laurent Cafe & Chocolate Bar

Today I went chilling out with my colleagues at Clark Quay. Our first stop was Monori Dining and Sake Bar. 10 of us went there for its Ala-Carte Buffet dinner. The ambiance is decent as we got a room to ourselves with the ever repeating Japanese songs CD. Food are well presented with good service. There is a camera fixed at the ceiling to monitor our needs AND to make sure that those who choose to eat Ala-Carte did not cheat by eating the Ala-Carte Buffet stuffs.

Without further ado, I shall barrage you with all the photos that I have taken.

A room to ourselves

Nice art piece

Neat placement of personal utensils

I kind of like the Green Tea set

We ordered Strawberry Sake. It is a little on the fruity side.
Could be a bit stronger. The waitress did mention that it is recommended for females.
Nonetheless, its good

Lets start with a little Chawanmushi

The Spider tasted nice. Its rice rolled with deep fried soft shell crab

No idea what this is called. Tasted like some Indian potato snack

Oooo. My favourite Shisamo

Photobucket

How can we forget Sashimi

A very savory Teriyaki Salmon

Tori Katsu

Chicken wing satays???

The deep fried chicken cartilage tasted surprisingly good
Once you start, you can't stop

Fried chicken wings. Decent. Nothing special.

I didn't get the chance to try the Soba

The Kare Udon is not too impressive.
While the Udon was cooked to perfection, the kare sauce was too watery.

Just now was Chicken wing satay. Now this!

And this?

These chicken chunks tasted quite nice too

A salad was ordered

After the meal, we took a walk along Clark Quay and decided to stop by Laurent Cafe & Chocolate Bar.

Around there are filled with people who are awfully rich, mostly expatriates. The apartments along the river are simply gorgeous. Reminds me a lot of the housing near the Swan river in Perth. Wonder if I can ever own one of such houses in Singapore during my life time. Anyway, back on topic. At the cafe, we ordered the New World Eden, which came as a spherical ball of chocolate. The waitress will then pour hot chocolate over it to melt the crust, revealing the mango sorbet, chocolate beans and raspberries inside. Yummy.

Ok. I was too slow to get the initial shot.
Well at least you can see how it melted :P

After this was a puffy looking thingy which I failed to get the name. Its made of egg white and has white cookies and cream chocolate poured over it. It is suppose to be something Rum & Raisins but I could not taste the rum in it.

No idea what is the name of this.
Something Rum & Raisin I suppose...

After chatting on for a while, we each went our separate way home. 2 of my colleagues wanted to share Cab with me to our homes. It was a total bitch trying to hail a Cab there. All Cabbies chose not to pick us up as it was nearing midnight. They would rather wait for a phone call pick up or pick us up after midnight with the 50% midnight surcharge. They all deserve to die. All three of us had to rush our way to Clark Quay MRT station in hope of catching the last train on time.

So now I am home, eyes super tired. As I was looking at my PSP, I notice something which I either failed to notice before or that it just happened. With my Quality Specialist, super tired eyes, I found out that my PSP LCD screen is suffering from Backlight Bleeding. Damn! I just spend SGD$115 replacing a LCD not too long ago. Sigh... So sad.
